Citi Rewards Credit Cards

Citi – perhaps still better known by many as Citibank – offer a great many credit card products designed to fit anyone’s needs. Their lineup of rewards cards is very good and for those who do their best to use their credit cards responsibly they can really reap card holders some great benefits. Here is a little about these rewards cards and what they have to offer:

Citi Forward Card

The Citi Forward card is one of the most popular credit cards that Citi offer and for very good reason. There is no annual fee, a 12% 0% introductory APR and a reasonable 12.9 to 20% APR after that as well as up to a 2% purchase APR reduction when you make a purchase, stay under your credit limit and pay on time 3 billing periods in a row. In fact many of the best reward earning opportunities offered with the Citi Forward card are related to good fiscal behaviors. You can receive 1,000 Thank You points (the name given to Citi Rewards) if you sign up for paperless billing, as well as 100 Thank You points for every month that you pay your bill on time (not in full, just on time) and remain under your credit limit.

You do of course also earn Thank You Points every time you make a purchase of any kind. Cardholders earn 1 point per $1 spent on most purchases but that shoots up to 5 points per dollar when the card is used at restaurants, movie theaters, in music or book stores or to purchase concert or sporting event tickets.

You can begin redeem your rewards points when you have accumulated 1,000 or more. Points never expire and there is no limit on how many you can earn so there is never any rush though. Rewards range from music and DVDs to electronics and fashion items. You can even choose to turn your rewards points into student loan credits or charitable donations.

There is a student version of the Citi Forward card that offers all the same benefits but features a slightly higher 24.9 APR and slightly more relaxed credit criteria.

Citi AT&T Universal Savings Rewards Card

This themed rewards card is great for those who could no longer imagine life without their AT&T smart phone but just wish it was with them a little less (especially those who are iPhone addicts)

In itself this is a great credit card. The 0% introductory APR extends for qua very generous 15 months and the 12.9% APR that follows is more than competitive. There is no annual fee and if you are the generous type who does not mind sharing rewards and perks you can add additional card holders to your account at no charge.

Rewards on most purchases are earned at the rate of 1 point per dollar spent up to 50,000 points a year. Reward points are awarded at a higher rate when the card is used to purchase AT&T products or to pay for AT&T services. You also receive discounts of between 5 and 10% on all AT&T purchases up to $350 every year.

Cardholders do not have to redeem their rewards on AT&T products or services. They can choose to redeem them for music downloads, gift cards, and to pay for travel instead but many people like to use their accumulated points to upgrade their current AT&T technology without having to spend too much more of their own money.

Citi ThankYou Premier Card

This is another of Citi’s most popular credit card choices. With its reasonable 13.25% – 20.99 % APR and generous reward programs both being very appealing features for great many consumers. There is a $125 annual fee attached to the card but that is waived for the first year of card membership.

Although you earn points on every purchase you make with the Citi Thank You premier card this is a card that is particularly well suited for travelers. Most day to day purchases are rewarded points on a 1 to 1 ratio or a 1.2 points to every 1 dollar ratio when used for gas or groceries. You earn extra points though when booking and paying for travel and vacations through Citi’s Thank You travel center as well as discounts on air fare and hotel accommodations of up to 25%. Citi ThankYou Premier Card members also have the chance to purchase special exclusive vacation packages at very reasonable prices.

Card members also receive additional rewards when they sign up for online account access, paper less billing or when they add an extra card to their account for a family member. There are also anniversary bonus points awarded every year and if you spend $1,000 in total on the Cti ThankYou premier card during the first three months you have it you can earn an additional 20,000 in bonus Thank You points which on its own is enough to earn you a $200 gift card or $200 air travel credit.

Rewards are available for as little as 1000 ThankYou points and include everything from travel credits and electronics to home goods, books, gift certificates and even straight cash back or charitable donations.

There are also two other versions of the ThankYou credit card available to customers – the Citi ThankYou Card and the Citi preferred ThankYou card. These both offer similar benefits to the Premier version described above but are available to those who have reasonably good credit but not the excellent credit that is required to qualify for a Premier version of the card.
